1 in 5 Arizonans Face Gambling Issues as State Sports Wagering Rises, New Data Shows
Dr. Harry Levant, director of gambling policy at the Public Health Advocacy Institute, is quoted in FOX10 Phoenix on new data showing that one in five Arizonans are experiencing gambling-related problems, as sports wagering continues to climb statewide. Levant warned that the accessibility of live betting and micro-bets has made sports gambling increasingly addictive.
“This is not a pastime, this is a danger,” Levant said. “It’s an addictive product.”
