Sammi Weeks is the project coordinator for Salus Populi, a judicial education program aimed at educating the judiciary about the social determinants of health by engaging judges, lawyers, and the legal community in a culture of health. Salus Populi is a project in collaboration with the Center for Health Policy and Law and the Institute for Health Equity and Social Justice Research. Salus Populi’s main goal is to provide a tuition-free, interactive, and discussion-oriented course that provides judges with the tools they need to recognize how these social determinants of health impact litigants and the issues that comes before the court and understand how they are relevant to judicial decision-making.

Prior to joining the Center, Sammi advocated and provided legal services for survivors of sexual violence as a trained Rape Crisis Counselor. Sammi also has extensive experience in nonprofit fundraising development and events.

Sammi earned a JD from Suffolk University Law School and a BA in politics and government and international studies from Ohio Wesleyan University.
