Professor Antoinette Coakley and Four Grads Named to NEBLSA’s “57 Most Influential Black Lawyers in the Northeast”

03.19.2025 –Professor Antoinette Coakley, assistant dean of Northeastern Law’s Bar Success Program, has been recognized as one of the “57 Most Influential Black Lawyers in the Northeast” by the Northeast Black Law Students Association (NEBLSA). She was nominated for the honor by Northeastern Law’s Black Law Students Association–Kemet Chapter.

Four Northeastern Law graduates were also named to the inaugural NEBLSA 57 class in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the legal field, advocacy and leadership: April English ’00, chief secretary to Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey ’98; Avana Epperson-Temple ’15, president of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association and associate at Peabody & Arnold; and Tara Dunn Jackson ’17, president of the Massachusetts Black Lawyers Association and associate at Mintz Levin; and Cassandra L.M. Prince ’20, an associate at Nutter McClennen & Fish.

The honorees were celebrated at a special luncheon during the 57th NEBLSA Regional Convention in February.

“It was so humbling to be chosen by our students to receive this award and such an honor to be included in such impressive company,” said Coakley.
