Asa Hutchinson’s veto of a bill that would prohibit gender reassignment surgery and treatment is “an important rebuke of this sweeping range of legislation targeting trans youth across the country,” Chase Strangio ’10, deputy director for transgender justice at the ACLU, tells The New York Times. “I hope Alabama’s watching.
