A scholar of transnational history, Professor Manjapra will discuss the comparative history of 19th C emancipation processes and post slavery liberation struggles across the Atlantic world as part of his current book project, Black Ghosts of Empire: The Long Death of Slavery and the Problem of Emancipation. Published by Penguin and Simon & Shuster, the book will be available next year.
