DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special event celebrating University Distinguished Professor of Law Margaret Burnham and a transformative commitment from Sally Chalfant Wolf ’80 establishing the Margaret Burnham Endowed Visiting Professorship in Civil Rights. The professorship honors Professor Burnham’s legacy as a legendary educator\, award-winning author\, activist and internationally recognized expert in civil rights. \nThrough her transformative career as a civil rights leader\, member of the bar and bench\, Northeastern Law faculty member and founder of the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project and faculty co-director of the Center for Law\, Equity and Race\, Professor Burnham has shaped generations of lawyers\, brought reparations initiatives to communities long denied justice and expanded the boundaries of what the law can achieve. \nWe will hear from Northeastern Law graduates and faculty whose lives and careers have been profoundly shaped by their work with Professor Burnham and reflect on her lasting impact on students\, communities and the broader pursuit of equity and justice. \nSpeakers include:\nDean James Hackney\nSally Chalfant Wolf ’80\nProfessor Margaret Burnham \nPast participants in the Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project Panel:\nN.
