11.26.2024 – Karen Walrond, acclaimed author, attorney, activist and leadership coach, will deliver a special presentation at Northeastern Law’s 17th annual Brown Forum for Women in the Law Conference on May 1, 2025. Walrond is the author of the award-winning Radiant Rebellion: Reclaim Aging, Practice Joy and Raise a Little Hell , an investigation in how we can resist ageism and live a gratifying, meaningful life along the way. She is also the author of The Lightmaker’s Manifesto: How to Work for Change Without Losing Your Joy, which beckons readers towards lives of integrity, advocacy, conviction and joy. Walrond’s writing and coaching have helped thousands of people around the world find meaning and purpose in their lives. By exploring the ways in which our assumptions might be made on false premises, Walrond shows us how we can tap into the lessons of past successes to create futures full of light.
This year’s conference, themed Generations of Justice: Sharing Experiences Across Ages, brings together women attorneys from diverse backgrounds and career stages to exchange wisdom, strategies and inspiration. With panels, networking opportunities and career advice, this empowering event is designed to enrich and uplift women at every stage of their legal journey.
“In troubled times, we must look toward inspiration and community to lift one another up,” said Mielle Marquis, director of alumni/ae engagement and initiatives and co-founder of the Brown Forum for Women in the Law. “Our 2025 conference will recharge your batteries and Karen Walrond will share her insights on living with purpose, integrity and joy.
