Kiana Pierre-Louis Appointed Associate Dean for Equity, Belonging and Student Affairs
09.20.24 — Assistant Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Kiana Pierre-Louis has been appointed to the new position of Associate Dean for Equity, Belonging and Student Affairs. Building on her current role as head of the law school’s diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB) program, Dean Pierre-Louis will additionally oversee the Office of Academic and Student Affairs (ASA). In this pivotal leadership role, she will manage all aspects of student affairs, from academic support and programming to crisis intervention and policy enforcement. Simultaneously, she will continue to advance the law school’s DEIB strategic plan, ensuring that DEIB is embedded into every facet of the law school’s culture, operations and community engagement.
“Since joining our community in 2022, Dean Pierre-Louis has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to enhancing the student experience and fostering an inclusive, supportive and equitable environment for all students, faculty and staff,” said Dean James Hackney. “I know that she will provide thoughtful and effective leadership in this new position and that our commitment to an outstanding student experience will be one of her top priorities.”
