Lauren Resner ’27 Chosen as 2026 Ambassador by the American Branch of the International Law Association
06.29.26 – Lauren Resner ’27 has been named a 2026 student ambassador by the American Branch of the International Law Association (ABILA) in connection with its annual International Law Weekend, which will be held October 22–24, 2026, in New York City. ABILA is dedicated to advancing the understanding and development of international law, with members drawn from academia, civil society, government, international organizations and private practice. Each year, ABILA selects student ambassadors to support branch leadership and assist with the planning and execution of International Law Weekend. Ambassadors contribute to conference preparation, write for the ABILA blog and newsletter, and gain hands-on experience networking with international law
“Being selected as a student ambassador for International Law Weekend is an exciting opportunity to represent Northeastern Law while learning from leaders in the field,” said Resner. “I’m looking forward to connecting with panelists and attendees, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into the event, and helping create a welcoming and engaging experience for everyone who attends.”
Resner, who graduated magna cum laude from Luther College with a BA in international studies and political science, brings a deep commitment to human rights law to the role — with a particular focus on queer and LGBTQ+ rights, Indigenous rights and disability rights. This past year, they served as a research associate with the Center for Global Law and Justice, working on projects related to the human right to water and sanitation, and helped launch a Law and Political Economy chapter at Northeastern Law. This summer, Resner is on co-op at Northeast Legal Aid, focusing on housing, elder and disability law.
