Northeastern Law Team Places in Top Five at Annual Health Law Regulatory and Compliance Competition

03.07.2025 – Northeastern Law students Adrienne Brown ’25, Carolyn Felice ’26 and Allison White ’26 participated as a team and placed fourth out of 14 teams at the annual Health Law Regulatory and Compliance Competition at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law on February 22, 2025. The team was sponsored by Northeastern Law’s Center for Health Policy and Law and coached by Professor David Simon.
“Northeastern always have a crackerjack health law team. This year was no different,” said Simon. “Our students committed were well-prepared and poised. I am impressed, but not surprised.”
The competition requires teams of two to three JD candidates to analyze a hypothetical fact pattern involving various interactions between health care stakeholders and entities participating in health care activities that necessitate regulatory and compliance oversight. The fact pattern is given to teams the day of the competition, and students have approximately 1.5 hours to analyze the problem. Teams present their findings and recommendations to a panel of practicing regulatory and compliance attorneys representing a broad range of organizations including law firms, federal government, private industry, and large health care providers. Teams will have the chance to improve their legal research, presentation skills, and substantive health law knowledge, while having the chance to network with students from across the country and leaders in the health law field.
