Northeastern Law’s Center for Global Law and Justice Launches Human Rights Resource Hub

05.19.2025 — Today, Northeastern Law’s Center for Global Law and Justice launched the Center for Global Law and Justice (CGLJ) Resource Hub to support human rights advocacy, scholarship and journalism around the world. In a competitive process, CGLJ was selected in 2024 to take the reins of the International Justice Resource Center (IJRC) Online Resource Hub, which contains an unparalleled collection of human rights materials and attracts as many as 75,000 visitors per month from more than 190 countries. IJRC Executive Director Lisa Reinsberg and the IJRC Board of Directors also helped secure a $550,000 grant to support CGLJ’s work and stewardship of the hub.

“The resources developed, collected and organized by Lisa Reinsberg and her team have facilitated important human rights scholarship and advocacy across the globe,” said Elizabeth Ennen ’08, director of the Center for Global Law and Justice. “We are thrilled and honored to assume responsibility for these resources. Thanks to the philanthropic support this project has received, we will be able to create a resource hub at Northeastern that honors the work of the IJRC and expands it in novel directions.”

The new CJLJ Resource Hub provides indispensable materials for helping users understand human rights law, identify advocacy opportunities and submit compelling arguments to courts and human rights monitoring bodies that so many have relied for 15 years. In addition, the CJLJ plans to leverage the expertise available at the law school and Northeastern University to add new features to the hub.

Reinsberg, an accomplished human rights attorney, created the IJRC and its Online Resource Hub in 2010 and has served as the executive director of IJRC since its launch. In addition to materials on international human rights law, the IJRC hub also provides resources on international humanitarian law and international criminal law.

“We are delighted to have found such an excellent home for the IJRC’s collection of human rights resources,” said Reinsberg. “Northeastern Law stands out for its faculty members’ human rights expertise and real-world impact, as well as its focus on training public interest lawyers. It is a pleasure to support the Center for Global Law and Justice and we wish it well with its work promoting human rights and justice around the world!”
