Samuel Alito Defends Kids of Migrants Staying in the US
Professor Rachel Rosenbloom is quoted in Newsweek on Justice Alito’s dissent in Trump v. Barbara, the Supreme Court’s landmark birthright citizenship ruling. “Justice Alito seems to be trying to soften the blow of his shocking conclusion by saying that Congress should make some provision for at least some U.S.-born children of undocumented parents,” Rosenbloom said, “but the bottom line is that Justice Alito is comfortable leaving the fate of these children to Congress, rather than honoring the intentions of the framers of the Fourteenth Amendment.”
