A Plan To Sell Artifacts From the Titanic Faces Us Government Opposition

University Distinguished Professor Richard Daynard, president of Northeastern Law’s Public Health Advocacy Institute, is quoted by the Associated Press on the US government’s opposition to a plan to auction more than 100 artifacts salvaged from the Titanic wreck. Rules governing the display and sale of Titanic artifacts are intended to preserve the wreckage for the benefit of the public, Daynard said, so it can’t be “picked up by billionaires for further display of their wealth and power”
