In terms of support and resources, what do you recommend to prospective students considering Northeastern Law?
When I was a prospective student, one of the most helpful resources for me was speaking to current students. In particular, I spoke to ambassadors and volunteers at Admitted Students Day and was able to visualize myself in this community. Hearing about real experiences created a clearer picture of Northeastern Law’s culture, academic environment and the day-to-day life of a student. I also found it incredibly helpful to attend virtual panels and Q&A sessions.Although not directly related to the law school, the virtual panel on finding housing in and around Boston was really helpful and motivated me to want to live in Boston and go to school at Northeastern Law even more.

What extracurricular activities have you been involved with at Northeastern?
I am currently involved with First Generation Law Association and Criminal Law Association.

What has been your favorite part about doing co-op while at NUSL? Can you describe the experience?
As part of my first co-op, I had the opportunity to work with the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and was placed with a sole practitioner who focuses mainly on post-conviction relief for non-citizen clients and cases involving the "collateral consequences" of guilty pleas. This experience gave me a hands-on introduction to legal practice early in my education, which is what makes the co-op program so valuable to me. I developed practical skills, learned to approach legal problems with a critical and creative mindset, and began to understand what it truly means to think like a lawyer. It was a deeply rewarding experience, and I’m excited to continue building on it during my next co-op in the spring.
