Influencer Law

Influencers—real, fake and everything in between—dominate social media and popular culture. But how do traditional areas of law like copyright, trademark, right of publicity and false advertising apply to their posts, images, advertising claims and memes? Professors Fromer, Roberts and Schwartz have written extensively on influencer marketing, dupe culture, AI influencers, viral memes and litigating personal brand. They’ll share their research, draw connections across doctrines and cultural events, and answer your questions about everyone from Grumpy Cat and Lil’ Miquela to Sydney Nicole Gifford and, of course, every last Kardashian.
