The Right to a Healthy Environment in US Law:
Justice for Communities Today and Tomorrow

Northeastern Law’s Program on Human Rights and the Global Economy (PHRGE) hosted its annual symposium on Thursday, June 9, 2022. This year’s theme was The Right to a Healthy Environment in US Law: Justice for Communities Today and Tomorrow. The symposium focused on the newly-endorsed right to a healthy environment and drew connections between this right and efforts to promote environmental justice in the United States. The event consisted of a keynote speech on environmental racism, a panel on environmental justice, and a panel on youth engagement and intergenerational obligations.

The event was hosted by Northeastern Law’s Program on Human Rights and the Global Economy on behalf of the Bringing Human Rights Home Lawyers’ Network.
