He received Northeastern Law's 2025 Teacher of the Year award, an annual honor recognizing teaching excellence and efficacy; devotion to student success; dedication to the social justice mission of the law school; commitment to experiential education; challenging students to think critically and appreciate alternative perspectives; creation of an inclusive learning environment; and innovation in pedagogy and curriculum. In 2023 and 2024, he created and led a “Dialogue of Civilization” for Northeastern undergraduates to the Pacific Northwest to study old-growth forests. Haile also teaches Federal Indian Law, a course he created to fill a curricular gap at the law school.
