Bio
Janelle Orsi is a writer, cartoonist and lawyer focused on cooperatives, worker-directed nonprofits, land justice and reimagining finance. She is co-founder of the cooperatively-structured nonprofit Sustainable Economies Law Center, which facilitates the growth of more sustainable and localized economies through legal services, education, research and advocacy. Most of Janelle’s time is spent providing legal support to beautiful organizations restoring humans and land to more loving relationships with each other, particularly focusing on land return to Indigenous people. Janelle is the author of Practicing Law in the Sharing Economy: Helping People Build Cooperatives, Social Enterprise, and Local Sustainable Economies (ABA Books 2012) and is currently writing a new book, Law for a Loving World.
