Bio
Rusty Russell is an environmental lawyer and policy and communications consultant. He has served as the executive director of a large watershed NGO and, as faculty at Tufts University’s graduate Department of Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning (UEP), co-directed its interdisciplinary water policy program, while teaching environmental law, water and air policy, and field research. Before that, he served as an attorney-advocate and communications director for the Conservation Law Foundation, the Boston-based NGO. He also has been a journalist and corporate lawyer, directed a state health policy program, and taught property law to first-year law students at Northeastern. He holds a BA in history from Amherst College and a JD from Harvard Law School. Publications include legal analyses of the future of offshore wind energy and the impacts of affordable housing on environmental protection, as well as a study of intermittent water supply in developing nations.
