Bio

Professor Silvers is a full-time copyright and trademark attorney at an intellectual property law firm in Boston. His experience spans both transactional and litigation work within the intellectual property field. He manages domestic and international trademark portfolios for hundreds of clients and provides copyright counseling. He is also experienced handling contested matters, both in federal court and in front of the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board within the United States Patent & Trademark Office. In law school, his field of study and research was copyright law, and his article “The Substandard Similarity Test: The Substantial Similarity Test Applied to Musical Works and Sound Recordings” is forthcoming in the Boston University Journal of Science & Technology Law.

Professor Silvers is a member of the Boston Intellectual Property Association, American Intellectual Property Association, Massachusetts LGBTQ Bar Association and the International Trademark Law Association.
