Public Art, Activism and Intellectual Property

This provocative panel discussion, sponsored by NUSL and the New England Chapter of the Copyright Society of the United States, focused on the challenges and hopeful future for public art and activism in light of a legal regime that remains stuck in outdated paradigms of intellectual property and market models. Two artists, a city art curator and an attorney discussed their personal experiences with public art projects, the interesting problems they have encountered and successes that could serve as models going forward.
