Reunion 2017 Panel 2

Border walls. Sanctuary cities. Travel bans. Immigration is a front-page story in 2017 in a way it hasn’t been since the early 1900s when the poem “The New Colossus”— “Give me your tired, your poor”—were inscribed on the Statue of Liberty. Concerns then, as now, centered around national security, jobs, and what it means to be “American.” Today’s discussion includes complicating factors such as technology, the ease of travel and just who is seeking to emigrate. Graduates currently working on the front lines of immigration share their perspectives.
