Northeastern Law’s NuLawLab Co-Launches First Legal Design Journal

12.09.2024 —To harness the words and power of legal design, which applies design methods to make our legal systems more user-friendly and effective, Northeastern Law’s NuLawLab has joined with organizers from four continents, 11 countries, 16 academic institutions, 15 organizations and countless perspectives to launch the Legal Design Journal, the first online academic journal dedicated to the world of legal design. Legal design theorists and practitioners now have a platform through which to share ideas and gain influence within and outside of legal institutions.

“This journal effort reflects both the greater interest in the approach to legal reform and a need among legal design practitioners and academics to develop, record and disseminate theoretical and methodological foundations for the promising discipline,” said Dan Jackson ’97, executive director of the NuLawLab. “We are proud to have played a role in the creation and launch of this new journal. New ideas need room to grow.”

NuLawLab, one of the nation’s first the interdisciplinary innovation laboratory founded by a law school, is involved in numerous cross-disciplinary teams and community-based partnerships focused on transforming legal education, the legal profession and the delivery of legal services. For more information, visit www.nulawlab.org,.
