Fujii ’24 and Wang ’24 Advance to Thomas Tang Moot Court Competition National Finals
11.02.23 — The Northeastern Law team of Michelle Fujii ’24 and Tiffany Wang ’24 will advance to the national finals of the 2023 Thomas Tang National Moot Court Competition (TTMCC), which will be held in person in Indianapolis in conjunction with the 2023 National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) Convention on November 10-11, 2023. Both active members of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association (APALSA), Fujii and Wang were selected based on their high scores at the Northeastern regional competition, held virtually on October 6, 2023. Only 12 teams were selected to proceed to the national competition, where they will present oral arguments to panels of federal and state judges.
“I am so proud of Michelle and Tiffany, not just because of how well they performed, but because of the commitment and generosity they show to each other as teammates,“ said Professor Margaret Hahn-Dupont, who supervised the team. “It has truly been a pleasure working with them both.“
The Thomas Tang Moot Court competition was founded in 1993 and is named in honor of the late Honorable Thomas Tang, who served on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from 1977 until his passing in 1995. He was the first American of Chinese descent appointed to the federal judiciary. The annual competition is sponsored by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association.
