Professor Hemanth Gundavaram Tapped for AALS Executive Committee
03.11.24 — Professor Hemanth Gundavaram has been elected to serve on the 2024 executive board of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS) Section on Minority Groups. This section offers a platform for law educators and administrators to come together, fostering communication and collaboration on issues and programs concerning individuals from historically underrepresented groups in the legal profession. Established by the AALS executive committee in 1973, the section aims to enhance access to the legal profession by implementing programs that address the needs of racialized, diverse, or marginalized communities and individuals.
“Being elected to serve on this executive board is an honor, as well as a testament to the ongoing commitment to diversity and inclusion,” said Gundavaram, who currently serves as associate dean for academic affairs and director of legal clinics and is the co-founder and director of Northeastern Law’s Immigrant Justice Clinic. “I am grateful for the opportunity to work with my colleagues to help advance access to justice and address critical issues facing minority groups in our profession.”
