- When is the library open? The Law Library is open when Knowles Center is open.
- How do I get reference help? On-site reference assistance is available from 9-5. Reference librarians are also available via email at [email protected]
- How do I use all of these databases? This guide is a good place to start. Or email us! There are a lot of them and they are confusing; we get it.
- Is there a good starting guide for 1Ls? Of course! Try this one.
- How do I check out a print book? (and what do I do with it when I'm done!) The easiest way is via the 2 self-checkout kiosks. One at the InfoDesk and another by the New Books. Books can be borrowed for 90 days with two renewals allowed. Returned books should be placed in the book drop, located near the InfoDesk.
- How do I check out an ebook!? It's easy! A quick example can be found here.
- How do I get a course book? The NU bookstore should have all of your course books, but here are some other ideas.
- How do I get access to the Bluebook? The library has a limited number of online copies available for law students only. Checkout time is. one month. To request access, email: [email protected]
- Where have all the newspapers gone? Not too far, many are available online. Find them here
- How do I get a book the library does not have? Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service for current US-based Northeastern faculty, staff, and students. If you need an item that is unavailable at Northeastern Libraries, we will attempt to borrow it or obtain a scan for you from another library. The law school has it's own ILL service.
- Where can I study quietly in the law library? The 4th floor is for quiet study.
- How do I book a study room in the law library? The study rooms are for Law Students only and can be booked through this link.
- How do I get help with computer stuff (wifi access, printing, chargers etc.)? Technology is under the purview of Computer Services. Email Brad or Jacob at [email protected]. Northeastern's Information Technology Services is also a good resource. A good Q&A and place to report problems is here
