JD Transfer Applicants
JD Transfer Applicants
The School of Law welcomes transfer applications from students who will have completed their first year at another ABA-approved law school.
There are two transfer options available:
Early Transfer
If accepted, early transfer students will begin upper-level coursework when the summer term commences in early May. This will allow students to utilize the Center for Co-op and Career Development to prepare for and obtain a co-op for the fall term. Applicants will receive a decision shortly after their files are complete.
Regular Transfer
If accepted, regular transfer students will begin upper-level coursework in the fall term. Applicants will receive a decision shortly after their files are complete. Transcripts must include second semester grades.
To apply as a transfer student, submit the following:
- Application by deadline (March 1 for Early Transfer, July 1 for Regular Transfer*)
- Dean’s letter of good standing
- Résumé
- Transfer statement
- CAS report that includes LSAT results, letter(s) of recommendation (one letter from a current law school professor required; two letters allowed) and all required transcripts, including your current law school.
There is no application fee for any application.
*This is the priority deadline for transfer students. Applications received after July 1 will be reviewed on a space-available basis. All admitted students must submit an enrollment deposit no later than July 15.
