In terms of support and resources, what do you recommend to prospective students considering Northeastern Law?
When I was a prospective student, I exchanged contact information with my tour guide, which was very helpful, and found support in speaking with other current students. I also appreciated how open admissions and financial aid was in answering my questions. I was also admitted as a Law, Equity and Race scholar and was provided some support through Northeastern Law’s Center for Law, Equity and Race (RACE). I have heard from other students that some professor sare also open to emails from prospective students interested in their area of expertise.
What extracurricular activities have you been involved with at Northeastern?
I served as a lawyering fellow for a year, and I am a member of MESALSA, CLA and WLC. I have also worked at the clinic front desk and as a research aassistant for Northeastern Law’s Civil Rights and Restorative Justice Project (CRRJ).
What has been your favorite part about doing co-op while at NUSL? Can you describe the experience?
My favorite coop was the summer I spent with CPCS. I came to Northeastern Law as an aspiring public defender, and this coop was an amazing opportunity toconfirm my interest area, build skills and learn from practitioners I deeply admire. I spent 15 weeks in person, and was able to use my 3:03 certification to argue motions and make bail arguments before the district courts. The chance to engage in research, writing, client advocacy and argumentation was transformative, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity I had to completely immerse myself in the public defense experience.
