“Local Courts’ Responses to Global Dilemmas: The Experience of the Colombian Constitutional Court”

The Center for Global Law and Justice (CGLJ) celebrated its official launch at Northeastern University’s John D. O’Bryant African American Institute on October 24, 2024.  The program featured a keynote address, “Local Courts’ Responses to Global Dilemmas: The Experience of the Colombian Constitutional Court,” by Justice Natalia Ángel Cabo of Colombia’s Constitutional Court and provided attendees with a deeper look at the center’s mission, upcoming initiatives and vision for advancing global justice.

Local Courts’ Responses to Global Dilemmas: The Experience of the Colombian Constitutional Court

Justice Ángel-Cabo will discuss cases coming before the Constitutional Court of Colombia that raise critical issues at both the local and global levels. These include climate change, technology and free speech, the aging of the population, and contemporary challenges in upholding the rule of law amid increasing distrust in institutions.
