Center for Global Law and Justice

The Center for Global Law and Justice at Northeastern University School of Law promotes human rights, humanitarianism and democracy through interdisciplinary research and advocacy. Our work is guided by Northeastern’s distinguished international law faculty, enhanced by collaborations with scholars and practitioners worldwide, and grounded in an appreciation for community leadership. Education is central to our work. We are committed to training the next generation of advocates and scholars through experiential learning and to providing critical human rights information, through our online Resource Hub, to individuals and organizations around the world.

New CGLJ Resource Hub

In May 2025, CGLJ launched the Center for Global Law and Justice (CGLJ) Resource Hub to support human rights advocacy, scholarship, and journalism around the world. In a competitive process, CGLJ was selected in 2024 to serve as the new home for the vast collection of human rights materials found on the International Justice Resource Center (IJRC) Online Resource Hub, which attracted as many as 75,000 visitors per month from more than 190 countries. IJRC Executive Director Lisa Reinsberg and the IJRC Board of Directors also helped secure a $550,000 grant to support CGLJ’s work on the hub. The new CGLJ Resource Hub provides indispensable materials for understanding human rights law, identifying advocacy opportunities, and submitting compelling arguments to courts and human rights monitoring bodies.

Center Launch Event

CGLJ hosted an official launch event at Northeastern University’s John D. O’Bryant African American Institute on October 24.  The event featured an address by Justice Natalia Ángel Cabo of the Constitutional Court of Colombia. The afternoon program also offered an opportunity to learn more about the center’s vision, upcoming projects and how it aims to shape the future of global justice.
