Bio

Sharon Persons teaches upper level writing and research courses. She has a passion for preparing students for practice, driven by eight years of civil litigation experience in a variety of settings, including a small law firm in Oakland, California; as a legal fellow in a reproductive rights non-profit; as a non profit housing attorney in New York City; and as a clinical instructor at Harvard. Sharon has a BA in History from Columbia University, a JD from Stanford Law School and a MLIS from Simmons. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. In her role as law library director, she provides leadership, strategic direction, management and oversight for all law library activities related to administration, outreach and teaching. Sharon oversees operations for three attorney librarians and two professional staff. She fosters key strategic opportunities such as advancing Northeastern’s commitment to experiential learning, reshaping library spaces, providing resources for staff training and development and promoting digital and information literacy in the Northeastern Law community.
