04.10.25—This academic year has brought a banner run for Northeastern University School of Law’s moot court teams, with students earning top honors across a wide range of national and regional competitions. From securities and trademark law to environmental and health law, Northeastern Law students have demonstrated extraordinary talent, preparation and poise under pressure—proving that they are ready to lead in the courtroom and beyond.

At the prestigious Kaufman Securities Law Moot Court Competition, held at Fordham Law School in New York City, Marcus Bockhorst ’25, William Czerwinski ’25 and Anjika Pai ’25 took first place after arguing before federal judges from the Second Circuit Court of Appeals and the Southern District of New York.

Meanwhile, Northeastern Law students have made their mark in multiple rounds of the Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition. Ably managed by Nadia Boudoukara ’26, the team of Charles Choi ’25, Matt Nadeau ’25, Kelsey Cumiskey ’25 and Anthea Simon ’26 placed second at the national finals on March 8 in Washington, DC—following an impressive first-place finish at the regional competition in New York in February, where they also earned the Best Oralist award.

The victories haven’t stopped there. A team of second-year Northeastern Law students, including Kaitlyn Dehais ’26, Peter Fantozzi ’26 and Jackson Machesky ’26, received a strong top four placement at the New England regional of the American Bar Association’s National Appellate Advocacy Competition held February 27–March 1, 2025. The team was also recognized with a top Five Best Brief award and advanced to the national final in Chicago. Competing as a third-year team in the same regional, Cynthia Murphy ’25, Anton Kernohan ’25 and Josephine Ban ’25 also represented Northeastern Law with distinction, with Murphy earning a Top Ten Oralist award.

In health law, Adrienne Brown ’25, Carolyn Felice ’26 and Allison White ’26 placed fourth out of 14 teams at the annual Health Law Regulatory and Compliance Competition at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law on February 22, 2025.

“These results are not only a testament to our students’ hard work and brilliance, but also to Northeastern Law’s commitment to experiential learning, rigorous training and meaningful mentorship,” said Dean James Hackney. “We’re incredibly proud of what our students have accomplished together.”

As competition season winds down, the energy on campus is electric—and with so many victories already secured, Northeastern Law has cemented its reputation as a national powerhouse in legal advocacy.
