Public Health Legal Clinic

In the Public Health Legal Clinic, students work on real-world projects with attorneys and gain experience using developing litigation or regulatory actions to improve public health. Student projects support the research and drafting needs of the Public Health Advocacy Institute and its Center for Public Health Litigation.

JD x Graduate Certificate in Health Policy and Law

The interdisciplinary JD x Graduate Certificate in Health Law and Policy encompasses a wide range of courses, including courses in public policy, sociology, public health and health management. Through courses, co-ops, clinics and writing a substantial paper, your studies will be grounded in the context of law and layered with laser-focused knowledge, industry-informed observations and unique insights, both from your law professors and from faculty and colleagues across our global university.

Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Compliance

Designed jointly by the School of Law and the  D’Amore-McKim School of Business, the 15-credit, one-year Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Compliance program offers law students the opportunity to learn about the laws and regulations that govern the healthcare system, as well as the business skills critical to ensuring compliance with them. This program is offered in hybrid format and will help to prepare students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel as healthcare compliance professionals.

Graduate Certificate in Health Law for Non-Lawyers

If you work in the healthcare industry and are looking to expand your legal knowledge, but are not quite ready to pursue a master’s degree, we offer a 12-credit Graduate Certificate in Health Law. This certificate arises directly from the need for more professionals with legal expertise in the highly regulated field of healthcare. The certificate is designed specifically to provide professionals with the skills necessary to understand, navigate and leverage the legal issues that arise within the healthcare field and to work effectively with counsel when a lawyer’s involvement is necessary. Students can apply their credits from this program to the Master of Legal Studies later on if desired.

LLM with Concentration in Health Policy and Law

Northeastern offers a concentration in health policy and law, which is open to international students and those who hold a JD who wish to practice in the fast-growing field of health law, or enhance their knowledge of health policy.

MLS with Concentration in Health Law

For non-lawyer professionals who work regularly with lawyers and legal issues, the Master of Legal Studies with a concentration in health law provides the practical knowledge needed to more effectively address legal issues in health-related industries and organizations.

PlusJD: BS in Health Science and JD

Northeastern University’s PlusJD is designed for academically outstanding, motivated and resourceful students to begin their first-year law school courses during their last year of undergraduate study.
